Gender inequalities are situation where individuals are treated differently because of gender, in an Ideal world it will be nice for men and women to be treated equally. Gender inequality are mostly significant in under developed countries, for example in Africa, Women are treated as second hand citizens.
There are cases where women are not allowed to talk in front of men, Some churches have refused to ordain women as priests, women are only recognized as baby machines and some of them have been refused to work by their husbands, some countries like Arab world denies women the right to wear what they want to wear and forces women to cover their bodies from head to toe including their faces, women can only remove their Veils when they are with their husbands.
Just last year an Iranian woman was sentenced to death because she was believed to have committed adultery according to sharia laws, Muslim men are protected from sharia laws if a man does the same thing. Men are considered to be superior to women in Muslim countries. I have met some women in Africa whom their parents have denied education because there are women and preferred to sponsor the male in the family to go to school, some of the uneducated women married as early as 9yrs old, some didn't make it to life during childbirth.
In the western world a woman might be denied a job because she is a woman and the false assumption is that a man can handle some job better than a woman, if the woman is lucky to have a job, the salary is normally lower than her male colleagues. This is very unfair and injustice to women in general, it is time for a change.
What am I saying?, My point is that gender inequality must stop in other to achieve development in the world, nobody is superior or more special than another, everybody is equal.
There are some remedies to gender inequalities, In 2010, Reports by the BBC news about gender inequalities, proves that more women all over the world are becoming more and more educated about their rights and highly skilled women are now occupying more significant positions in public service compared to the same situation in 1960's.
Although in some part of under developed countries including muslem countries, things still needs to change more. The whole world will be a better place where people welcome the idea of change and development through eradication of gender inequalities so that equality can be achieved.
